Wildfire at Brian's property-Brian gave a report on the fire that occurred yesterday. Some of his lessons learned were:

-911 first (before MURS radios)

-If emergency allows, caller should give additional route details e.g. major landmarks, intersections

-caller should identify if they are calling their own emergency or one that is close by

-there are known dispatch issues in mountain areas (e.g. areas that are in Larimer County, but Lyons Fire District is actually closer)

-keep a corded phone or land line

-If safety is an issue, determine if Larimer or Boulder County will respond

-Residents in Brian's area did not know that Larimer was considering a pre-evacuation alert. Communication with residents needs to improve

-LETA calls were made

-Reporting outage to Poudre Valley power needs improvement (especially in an emergency)

ACTION ITEM: Frank will devise a checklist/script for callers to use in an emergency

-Communicate with neighbors by texting; take a communication devise with you when you leave the house

-Brian will speak to his road association regarding LP

-review process for preferred staging areas for evacuations, getting information (Emily will discuss with Fire District)

Larimer Connects: Jane Lopez has been hired as coordinator

Purchase of More Radios: Newer radios are improved (have a screen), more expensive. Tax Credit is available to those who purchase.

New Chairperson: Joycelyn Fankhouser will serve as the new Chair. Emily will remain as a board member.
